Ms. Musatescu’s practice focuses on trade mark procedures, such as filing oppositions with the Romanian State Office for Patents and Trade Marks (“SOPTM”); contestations; registrations and renewal of trade marks; trade mark availability and use; investigation and analysis of trade mark conflicts including cyber- squatting; counseling clients on issues of confusion and infringement in the Romanian market and representing clients before SOPTM and in Court. 

Ms. Musatescu has also been involved in EU PHARE harmonization projects, including an evaluation of the Romanian Energy Legislation and privatization procedures. 

Ms. Musatescu is admitted to the Bucharest Bar and a registered trademark attorney with the SOPTM. 

She is a member of different organizations, including the Romanian Association for Energy Policies (APER). 

While attending the Durham University, Ms. Musatescu’s Master’s dissertation  focused upon the exhaustion of rights principle in EC trademark law and its impact  on Romania’s relationship with the EU.  She also participated with the Durham  University Team in the ‘European Moot Court Competition’. She was awarded a  British Council Scholarship. 

While attending law school at University of Bucharest she was awarded a scholarship for students maintaining high marks. 

She is currently the Head of the Intellectual Property Group in Arent Fox Kintner 

Plotkin & Kahn, PLLC’s, Bucharest Office.
